Trail Mix Recipe

With back to school just around the corner I thought I’d do a trail mix recipe. What we use and how I do it.

Let’s go

So for the prep side of things, you just need:

  • A large bowl
  • Any containers (I’m using Kilner jars)
  • A spoon or scoop
  • All your different packs of fruits and nuts

So this is so simple, you can customize your trail mix however you want with all different kinds of things.
This is what we chose this time:

  • Banana chips
  • Cranberries
  • Flame raisins
  • Cashew nuts
  • Mixed raisins
  • Cherries
  • Pineapple pieces
  • Mixed fruit nut and seed
  • Milk choc chips
  • White choc chips

This all goes into the large bowl, give it a good mix up and your ready to pop it into your container of choice, I used two jars and the rest went into an air tight box.

So quite a packed out trail mix, we change it up each time. Last time we made it we included shredded coconut and flaked almonds.

Next time we make it the kids have asked for chocolate m&ms!!

So this is such a simple and quick thing to do, the initial outlay was around £10.00, but there is so much here it will last for months. We only give the kids a small box of it for school.

I did a video of this if you want to see it in action.

My back to school prep videos are on my channel too. I’ve done school uniform and stationery the kids are taking back.

Here’s to a happy new school year!

See you soon
